The Answers You Need

Where do you run your courses?

Magnificent Mama are based in Surbiton and we cover a number of areas in Surrey and South West London including Chelsea, Kensington, Battersea, Clapham, Balham, Wimbledon, Earlsfield, Wandsworth, Kingston, Surbiton, Thames Ditton, Long Ditton, East Molesley, Hampton Court, Cobham, West Byfleet, Woking and Guildford. We can come to you if you book a private course, otherwise our group courses are mostly based in Surbiton and Clapham.

You mention KG Hypnobirthing? What exactly is it?

KG Hypnobirthing the Hypnobirthing method that Magnificent Mama teaches. It is a complete antenatal training programme which will provide you will the tools and knowledge that you need to have the positive birth that you deserve. It is simple, logical and profound, based on the physiology and psychology of labour. That's right, it's based on simple science.

Will it work for me?

YES. Hypnobirthing works for absolutely everyone in an individual way. The more you practise, the more effective it will be. It's not as simple as turning up to the course and then forgetting everything you've learned. You wouldn't try and run a marathon without training a bit in advance, well achieving a positive birth works in the same way. Your birth might not work out exactly as you had hoped, but with Hypnobirthing you will be able to journey through it feeling calm, confident and empowered.

Who needs to attend the course with me?

For Hypnobirthing to e most effective, it's recommended that you attend the sessions with your birth partner. However, if you do not have a planned birth partner or you would prefer to attend alone then you are very welcome and you will still benefit hugely.

When can I begin?

You're welcome to start your course at any point during your pregnancy, but we find that it is most effective to begin between the 20-28 week mark. This allows for plenty of time to continue practising.

If I take a Mama Magnificent course, do I also need to attend NCT antenatal classes?

No, you don't. Our courses will teach you everything that your NCT classes would about pregnancy and birth, only with us you will learn even more, in a positive and nurturing environment.

I'm in, but I'm not sure I'll manage to convince my birth partner...

Some birth partners (in particular men) can sometimes take a little more nudging to be convinced of the power of Hypnobirthing. If this is the case for you then feel free to drop me a line and I can arrange for either myself or a fellow Hypnobirthing Dad to have a quick chat with them.

This isn't my first birth, will Hypnobirthing still work?

Absolutely. Many women who aren't happy with their birth experience the first time round choose Hypnobirthing for their subsequent births and report having a significantly more positive experience. One birth experience doesn't define another and there is absolutely no reason why you can't have the birth you want the second, third, fourth... time around.

I'm planning a caesarean section birth. Will Hypnobirthing still benefit me?

Definitely! In some ways it's even more beneficial for women having a caesarean section as your body will need to stay really calm and relaxed to keep that lovely oxytocin hormone flowing during your surgery. We can also work together to create your caesarean birth preferences so that you can shape your birth experience to be right for you. It doesn't have to be all sterile lights and impersonal. Gentle caesareans are increasing in popularity and Hypnobirthing can definitely help you have the positive experience that you deserve.

"According to physiological law, all natural functions of the body are achieved without peril or pain. Birth is a natural, normal physiological function for normal, healthy women and their healthy babies. It can, therefore, be inferred that healthy women, carrying healthy babies, can safely birth without peril or pain"
