Pregnancy Yoga is the ideal way to maintain a healthy body and positive mind throughout your pregnancy, whilst also helping you prepare physically and mentally for birth.
Pregnancy Yoga can provide a safe space for you to connect with your baby, help you learn to love your pregnant body and look forward to motherhood, help to manage anxiety, increase confidence and self-esteem and provide an opportunity to discuss any nerves or questions around childbirth with your teacher. Pregnancy yoga classes provide a space in which you can relax and rejuvenate.
On a physical level, pregnancy yoga can help your body to create space for baby to make you more comfortable, improve your sleep, improve strength in your pelvic floor, increase your lung capacity resulting in reduced shortness of breath, increase stamina to prepare you for birth and early motherhood, release tension, and improve your circulation, cardiovascular and lymphatic systems. You will also learn some breathing techniques which will come in very handy during your birth and women who practise pregnancy yoga often have an easier recovery from childbirth with an increased sense of wellbeing.
